Nancy
A. Olson
"My heart and eye
is with the land. I have lived in a rural setting all of my
life. It is part of my moral fiber and physical being. I
am drawn to the energy of thunderstorms. Watching them develop
over the rolling hills of the land is a spiritual experience.
Autumn with its palette
of earth tones is a sublime time. I like the days that have both
sun and scudding clouds. These observations become internalized
and provide the impetus for my dramatic landscapes. I find that
gouache and more recently pastels work well for my linear
impressionist technique. My role models are Vincent Van Gogh and
Mary Cassatt."
